Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website or engaging Starter Lab for services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not proceed with an engagement.

Services

Starter Lab provides custom AI automation systems, AI agent development, self-hosted model deployments, and custom internal tooling for B2B companies. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing for each engagement are defined in a separate project agreement signed before work begins.

The 30% Guarantee

Where explicitly stated in a project agreement, Starter Lab guarantees a minimum 30% reduction in the targeted ops workload within 30 days of system go-live. If this target is not met, Starter Lab will continue working at no additional cost until it is. This guarantee applies only to engagements where the qualifying criteria have been agreed in writing prior to the start of the project.

Project Scope and Deliverables

All project scopes, timelines, and deliverables are defined in individual project agreements. Changes to scope requested by the client after agreement may result in adjustments to timeline and cost. Starter Lab will communicate any such changes before proceeding.

Payment Terms

Payment terms are specified in individual project agreements. Engagements begin with a paid ops audit. Fixed-scope projects are invoiced on the schedule agreed in the project agreement. Retainer engagements are billed monthly. Late payments may result in pausing of services.

Intellectual Property

Upon full payment, all custom-developed automation systems, agents, and tooling become the property of the client. The client receives full access to all code, documentation, and credentials. Starter Lab retains no ongoing access to client systems after handoff unless engaged on a retainer. Starter Lab retains rights to any general-purpose tools, frameworks, or methodologies not specifically developed for the client.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information about workflows, systems, and requirements
  • Timely access to systems, APIs, and internal stakeholders needed for the project
  • Timely feedback and approvals at agreed review points
  • Compliance with applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction
  • Ensuring they have the right to grant access to any systems or data shared with Starter Lab

Confidentiality

Both parties agree to treat as confidential any non-public information shared during the engagement, including business processes, data, system architecture, and commercial terms. This obligation survives the termination of any project agreement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Starter Lab's total liability for any claim arising from an engagement is limited to the fees paid for that specific engagement. Starter Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement with written notice as specified in the project agreement. Upon termination, the client is responsible for payment of all services rendered up to the termination date. Any partially completed deliverables will be handed over in their current state.

Changes to Terms

These Terms of Service may be updated periodically. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Active project agreements are governed by the terms in effect at the time of signing.
